You’re not boring. Your brand story might be.
If your story sounds like everyone else’s, you’re not standing out you’re blending in.
friend! Hakuna Matata.
That’s what my 4-year-old yelled from the couch while Lion King played for the 100th time.
And like any sleep-deprived dad running a business…
I froze.
Because that line?
Is more memorable than most founder stories I see online.
Here’s the problem:
Most brand stories are written like LinkedIn bios.
→ “I’ve always been passionate…”
→ “After X years in corporate…”
→ “Now I help people do XYZ…”
It’s safe. Predictable. Generic.
It could be anybody’s.
Which means nobody remembers it.
What works instead? One line with a punch.
Here’s mine:
“I ghostwrote a blog post about Giannis for $10 on Fiverr at 2AM… just to keep the lights on.
Not impressive. Not polished.
But it’s real.
It’s sticky.
And it’s mine.
It tells you more about my brand than 3 paragraphs of fluff ever could.
So what’s your version of Hakuna Matata?
Your line doesn’t need to be perfect.
It just needs to matter.
Something sharp. Sticky. Specific.
That shows people where you’re coming from and where you're taking them.
Try this:
Write your story in 1 sentence.
Would you stop scrolling for it?
Reply and show me. I read every one.
