What every business owner should know about storytelling
belief starts with storytelling.
friend!
If you launched a brand-new company today, how would you sell it?
No audience. No credibility. No testimonials.
Most people would list features, throw in a discount, and pray someone bites. But the best brands? They don’t sell products. They sell belief.
And belief starts with storytelling.
Problem is, most business owners either overshare random personal details or stick to lifeless, corporate fluff.
If you want people to buy from you, you need three stories in your business.
1. Your Personal Story – Why should they trust you?
People buy from people. Not logos. Not faceless brands. You.
Maybe you struggled with the same thing they’re facing. Maybe you saw a gap in the market and knew it had to be fixed.
Whatever it is, tell it. Because if your audience doesn’t feel like they know you, they’ll never trust you enough to buy from you.
2. Your Brand Story – Why does your business exist?
Not an “About Us” page. Not a mission statement. A belief system.
Apple has “Think Different.” Nike has “Just Do It.” These aren’t slogans. They’re identities. When people buy in, they’re not just getting a product, they’re joining something bigger.
Your business needs that. Otherwise, you’re just another option in a sea of noise.
3. Your Customer’s Story – Can they see themselves winning?
Your audience doesn’t care about your success. They care about their transformation.
Show them.
“I had no idea how to market myself until I found this.”
“I used to struggle with X, but now my business is thriving.”
This is what turns lurkers into buyers. Proof, not promises.
Most brands are out here screaming for attention. The ones that win? They make people feel something real.
So what’s the story you’re telling? And more importantly, is it making people believe?
I’ve love to hear it.
