Well this is embarrassing

I got fired over a Google Meet

In partnership with

Alright, friend, we need to talk about something real.

A few years ago, I was fired during a Google Meet call.
No notice.
No warning.

I watched it happen in real-time
My Slack access revoked.
Project tools disappearing from my screen.

Then halfway through the conversation...
poof
The call ended 😂😂.

They deleted my company email while I was still on the call.

I sat there stunned.
Not because I didn’t expect hard things in business.
But because I had tied so much of my identity to that job.

I was the "reliable one."
The "hard worker."
The "one they could count on."
The “brains” of the operation.

And just like that, it was stripped away.

For a long time, I stayed quiet about it.
Ashamed.
Embarrassed.
Hiding behind new projects, new goals, new "successes."

But here’s the thing:

Every time you show up
Every time you tell your real story
You give people a reason to believe in you.

(And every time you hide, you put another wall between you and the ones you're meant to reach.)

It’s the same thing we talked about in my newsletter yesterday:
Adam Stewart didn’t pretend.
He showed up inside the story, legacy, flaws, and all.

And people trusted him for it.

So here's my nudge to you friend:

Every DM you send...
Every comment you leave...
Every email you write...
Every small moment you show up...
You are building trust, or hiding from it.

What story are you telling, even when you’re not speaking?

You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You just need to be seen.

Enjoy your weekend friend!!

Talk soon,
Stephen
