Want more sales? use more stories

They think sending more “value” means dumping more bullet points.

In partnership with

friend, I subscribe to way too many emails.

Like… at least 100.
Okay, maybe closer to 50.

And after years of scanning my inbox one thing became painfully clear:

The emails that stick?
The ones I open.
The ones I remember.
Always had a story baked in.

Maybe I’m bias.

Not “5 tips to increase revenue.”
Not “7 hacks for growth.”

But, “Last week I bombed a sales call and here’s what I learned.”

Here’s why this matters:

Information alone makes people think.
Stories make people feel.

And when readers feel something, they act.

If your emails aren’t selling, it’s probably because you’re skipping the story and going straight into teacher mode.

So here’s the fix.
A simple 3-step story-driven email structure you can steal:

  1. Start with a real moment.
Something you did, saw, or messed up. Keep it short, 2–3 lines max.

  2. Pull out the lesson.
What did it teach you? What shifted?

  3. Tie it to your offer.
Show how the lesson connects to what you sell.

That’s it.
No overthinking.
No 1,500-word essays.

This week, swap your next tip-heavy opener for a story.

Your readers will lean in.
Your sales will follow.

Talk soon,
Stephen

P.S. Most people read guides and then… do nothing. Don’t be that person. Tell one story this week and see what happens.
