Try this video, ok? 🎬🔥Don't overthink it.
This hook offends the right people and attracts the right ones.
friend, try this video, ok?
Because if you’re doing work people rely on every single day…
and they act like it’s “no big deal,”
you deserve more than a quiet nod and a thumbs-up emoji.
Here’s the blunt truth.
This hook works because it says the thing people are already thinking,
but are too polite, scared, or exhausted to say out loud.
And when you say it?
People either agree aggressively
or get mad and start typing essays.
Both are wins.
I learned this the hard way.
A while back, I tried recording a bold opinion video.
Strong opening line.
Clear stance.
Confident delivery.
And it still flopped.
Why?
Because I had a statement, not a story.
I swung the hammer… then just stood there.
Once I stopped rambling and started using actual story beats, everything changed.
Same idea.
Same opinion.
Way more traction.
Here’s what finally clicked:
Hot takes don’t work on their own.
They need movement.
They need tension.
They need a finish.
So if you’re gonna use the
“If you do X, you deserve Y” hook,
here’s how to not screw it up.
🎬 The 3 Story Beats That Make This Work
1. HOOK
Say the line straight.
No softening. No disclaimers.
“If you’re doing [undervalued thing], you deserve [respect, pay, or relief].”
2. TENSION
Explain the cost.
The hours.
The mental load.
What it replaces in your life.
What people depend on but never acknowledge.
This is where viewers think,
“Yep. That’s me.”
3. FLIP + PAYOFF
Land the point.
Name the pattern.
Say the uncomfortable part.
End with something final:
“I said it.”
“Argue with your screen.”
“Don’t @ me.”
Then stop talking.
Examples:
Career Coach:
If you’re doing your job and fixing everyone else’s mess, you deserve more than praise.
Wealth Coach:
If you’ve been cutting back for years and still stressing, you deserve a better system.
Social Media Manager:
If you’re posting daily with zero results, you deserve more than “just be patient.”
Therapist:
If you were the emotional adult as a kid, you deserve real support now.
Creative / Freelancer:
If you’re doing strategy, execution, and cleanup, you deserve actual money.
Visual Prompt
Turn on the camera.
Look straight into it.
Say:
“If you’re doing [the thing people take for granted], you deserve [what they’re not giving you].”
Explain why in one breath.
End it.
No rambling.
No overthinking.
No apologies.
See you soon,
Stephen
