Till Death Do Us Part

Marriage isn’t about the wedding day.

It’s about the days after. The messy, ordinary, unfiltered moments. The showing up, even when it’s not convenient. The trust built over time.

That’s storytelling.

Most people treat it like a one-night stand. They tell a story when they need engagement, then ghost their audience the rest of the time.

But the best founders, brands, creators, and coaches?

They commit.

They tell stories consistently. They don’t wait for the “big moments.” They share the behind-the-scenes, the struggles, the wins, because connection isn’t built overnight.

One of my clients, a coach, struggled with this. She had the skills. The expertise. The credibility.

But her content? Just wasn’t connecting.

We flipped the script.

She started sharing real stories, client breakthroughs, personal lessons, hard-earned insights. Stories that made people feel something.

The result? More engagement. More conversations. More clients.

So how do you stay committed to storytelling? I don’t want you to overthink it cause it’s pretty simple.

  1. Make it a habit.
Storytelling isn’t a once-in-a-while thing. Set a routine daily, weekly, whatever works, but make it non-negotiable.

  2. Collect moments, not just milestones.
Everyday experiences hold more power than you think. Pay attention. Take notes. The best stories are often the simplest.

  3. Speak like a human.
If it sounds like marketing-speak, rewrite it. Your audience doesn’t want a lecture, they want a conversation.

Commit to storytelling like you would a great relationship. Show up, share honestly, and watch what happens.

Cheers,

Stephen
