The storytelling framework that fixes your “camera stage fright”
Keep it raw. Keep it human.
Hey friend!
If you’ve been thinking about showing up on video but keep overthinking what to say you’re not alone.
Most people assume the problem is gear:
What mic should I buy?
Do I need a better camera?
What editing app is best?
(Spoiler: I still film 90% of my videos on my phone.)
But here’s the truth:
If you’re at Point A, don’t worry about “Point Z issues.”
The real skill isn’t technical.
It’s emotional.
Because showing up on video isn’t about having the perfect setup—
it’s about having a story that feels true.
That’s where the Permission to Be framework comes in.
It helps you talk to the camera like a human, not a host.
Here’s how it works 👇
1️⃣ Intro: Start with a reflection.
“Have you ever noticed this is your first time trying to build this version of your life or business?”
2️⃣ Inflection Point: Name the struggle or impossible expectation.
“Most of us beat ourselves up for not having it all figured out yet.”
3️⃣ Rising Action: Show the conflict.
“It’s tough because we keep comparing our Day 1 to someone else’s Year 5.”
4️⃣ Climax: Reframe it with compassion.
“But here’s the shift: You don’t need to be impressive; you just need to be real.”
5️⃣ Resolution: End with a grounding takeaway.
“You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to keep showing up.”
🎬 How to use it:
Write one honest line for each step.
Then hit record.
No script, no polish, no pressure.
Your audience doesn’t want perfect lighting.
They want permission to be human.
Hit reply and tell me:
What’s one thing you’re finally giving yourself permission to say on camera?
Till Sunday
