The Simple Path Is Harder Than It Looks

Do you agree?

Hey friend! I call this the Sunday Sip! It’s a bit different from my weekly emails. I hope you’ll enjoy it.

The other night, I was rewriting a client’s About page for the third time.
Each draft got shorter.

Each round, the urge to “add more” crept in.
A clever metaphor here, a stat there, one more line for credibility.

But I stopped myself.

I realized, again, how hard it is to keep things simple.
And how often, in business and life, we complicate our path under the illusion that more is always better.

The Hidden Power of Subtraction

Everywhere you look online, someone’s adding something:

→ Another morning routine step
→ Another productivity tool
→ Another marketing channel

We’re taught to believe growth is about stacking on more more hours, more strategies, more hustle.

But here’s the truth:
Most of the progress I’ve made happened when I cut things out.
Not when I added them.

→ My writing got better when I stopped trying to sound smart.
→ My health improved when I stopped chasing trendy diets.
→ My business moved faster when I focused on one clear offer.

Why Simple Feels So Hard

It’s uncomfortable to do less.
It feels lazy at first.
It feels risky, like you’re not doing enough.

But simplicity is what actually moves the needle.

The real challenge?
Letting go of the fear that “just this” isn’t enough.

Make Simple Your Edge

So here’s the question I’m asking myself this week, and maybe you can, too:

→ What’s one thing you can remove from your routine?
→ What’s one area you’re adding complexity that doesn’t need it?
→ What would it look like to master the basics instead of chasing more?

It’s not easy.
But every time I choose less over more, I get better results and a clearer mind.

There’s a difference between hard work and helpful work.
Just because something feels productive doesn’t mean it’s actually moving the needle.
The real challenge is letting go of the busy stuff, and getting honest about what really matters.

Something to Think About

Simplicity isn’t about being minimal for the sake of it.
It’s about making space for what matters most and letting the rest go.

That’s all for today.
