So, my new hobby is getting slapped by reality. 10/10 experience.
My elaborate 6 AM ritual lasted exactly 3 days.
friend, let me tell you about my epic fail last week...
I decided to be a "trendsetter" and built the most elaborate 5 AM morning routine known to humanity.
Meditation, journaling, ice bath (okay fine, cold shower), green smoothie, and 30 minutes of reading before breakfast.
Day 1: Felt like a productivity guru.
Day 2: Snoozed twice, skipped meditation.
Day 3: Ate leftover pizza for breakfast while googling "is caffeine a vegetable?"
Reality slapped me harder than my alarm clock.
But here's the thing...
This disaster taught me something crucial about storytelling that I think you need to hear.
You can't wait for the perfect story to tell your story.
I spent three days, three freakin days, trying to perform someone else's success story instead of just being honest about my own messy reality.
And guess what?
Nobody cared about my perfect morning routine.
Here's what I realized:
The stories that actually connect with people aren't the polished ones. They're the ones where you're willing to be real about what didn't work.
Your audience isn't scrolling through social media thinking, "I really hope someone shows me their flawless morning routine today."
They're thinking, "Please tell me I'm not the only one struggling with this."
This is the storytelling secret that nobody talks about:
You don't need to have it all figured out to start telling your story. The clarity comes from telling the story, not the other way around.
I see sooo many entrepreneurs sitting on their stories because they're waiting for the perfect moment, the perfect outcome, the perfect lesson.
But that's not how it works, Stekk.
Your messy, imperfect, still-figuring-it-out story is exactly what someone needs to hear today. Because they're messy and imperfect and still figuring it out too.
So here's my challenge for you:
What story have you been sitting on because it doesn't feel "ready" yet? What messy, imperfect thing could you share that would make someone else feel less alone in their own mess?
Reply and tell me about it. I promise your imperfect story is more powerful than you think.
Have a beautifully messy weekend,
Stephen
