Not what I planned to send today...

So here’s what happened.

In partnership with

friend,

I sat down to write you a helpful, how-to email this morning.
Something clean. Structured. Step-by-step.

But I scrapped it.

Because this kept circling in my head:
There’s nothing personal about your personal brand.

It looks polished.
Sounds smart.
Follows all the rules.

But it doesn’t feel like you.

I see it all the time.
A coach who used to be homeless, but never talks about it.
A creator who battled burnout, but only posts productivity hacks (this use to be me but I’ll tell that story next week)
A founder who built something from scratch, but hides behind business jargon.

And I get it.
It’s safer to sound smart than real.
But people don’t connect with strategy.
They connect with stories.

Your stories.

Not the highlight reel.
The human reel.

The version of you who got rejected, failed publicly, questioned everything,
and still showed up.

That’s the version that earns trust.
That’s the version people remember.
That’s the version that sells.

So if your brand feels like a costume
Try telling the story behind it.

Start with you, not your offer.

That’s the kind of personal brand that sticks.

See you Friday,
Stephen

It’s not you, it’s your platform

Your newsletter content is top-notch. Your social media game is on point. Your aspirations are through the roof. Yet you’re stuck on level one.

We’ve got bad news (and then really good news): your newsletter platform stinks. And beehiiv can get you where you want to be.

Most newsletter platforms leave the growth and monetization aspects of content creation to the creator. But that’s like trying to drive a car with no wheels.

Beehiiv’s platform is built for growth, so you can scale at the speed your content deserves with features like paid subscriptions, referral programs, and an ad network that connects you with global brands like Netflix and Nike.

It’s time to ask yourself: if your newsletter platform isn’t doing enough for you, what are you going to do about it?
