My kids staged a hostile takeover
My secret framework is inside
Hey friend!
Monday afternoon. Big client call about content stuff.
BANG BANG BANG.
"DADDY! DADDY! DADDY!"
My 3-year-old twins are beating down my door like tiny angry customers who want their money back.
Know this feeling? When your "work self" crashes into your "real life" and you think you just ruined everything.
You think these little interruptions make you look bad. That clients will think you're not serious about business.
I used to freak out the same way. Hide the mess! Say sorry a million times! Keep work and family totally separate!
Turns out, that's the wrong way to think.
Here's what saved me (and what you should copy), friend:
Tell them what to expect first. I started the call with: "Heads up - I have three little kids, so things might get wild."
Don't pretend it's not happening. When the door banging started, I didn't act like nothing was wrong. I smiled and said: "Can you hear my tiny bosses asking for attention?"
Use the mess to connect. Your crazy life shows you're a real person, not a robot.
These three steps worked perfectly. That client said YES that same day. She told me: "You're not fake, and I'm a parent too so I totally get it. You're a real person with real life happening, and that's why I want to work with you."
Earlier this week I was checking in on my friend Niki who has the same crazy life. She calls her house "the garrison."
Perfect way to describe what it's like living with little kids running everything.
When you stop hiding your real life and start leading with it, people will trust you more instead of judging you. Your audience will see you as someone who gets their world, not some perfect robot they can't relate to.
Try this approach next time life interrupts your work. Watch how people connect with your real self instead of running away.

P.S. There's a special way to turn your messy moments into content people love. I call it my TRACE Framework. It's how I wrote this email, and how my clients turn their daily chaos into their best posts.
I'm giving it away for FREE.
If you're tired of staring at your computer with nothing to write, or scared your real life isn't "professional" enough... I got you. Get the framework here and never run out of things to write about again.
