I’m conflicted
I tried to write about business... but life got louder.
Hey friend!
Back when I started this whole storytelling thing…
I made myself a promise.
No matter what was happening around me
I’d show up and write.
Rain or shine.
Good week or bad week.
Everyday Sunday-Friday, an email would go out.
But this week?
Man, I’ve been staring at this blank screen for days.
Because while I’m sitting here trying to come up with clever lines about storytelling and content strategy…
My country is literally fighting to rebuild.
Power lines down.
Roads gone.
Families displaced.
Entire communities without light or water.
And I’m sitting here thinking
“How do I write about business when my countrymen and women are living in darkness?”
That thought’s been eating me alive.
I’ll type a sentence, then delete it.
Start another one… delete that too.
And at some point, I just said
You know what? Maybe this is the story.
Because the truth is, we all wrestle with this same tension.
Do we talk about what’s real,
or do we keep things “on brand”?
Do we write what converts,
or what connects?
Here’s what I’ve learned this week:
Sometimes, your “brand story” and your real story aren’t separate.
They’re the same thing if you have the guts to tell it.
So, I’m breaking my own rule.
No framework today.
No fancy formula.
Just an invitation.
Finish one of these lines and post it somewhere:
“The moment I realized ____ changed everything.”
“I used to believe ____ until ____.”
“It all started when ____.”
Let’s fill the feed with stories that remind people we’re human
not highlight reels.
Because right now, the world doesn’t need more polished content.
It needs more truth.
