I failed miserably. 😬

Hey my friend,

I crashed. Burned. Face-planted.

I thought I was telling great stories.

But I was dead wrong.

No engagement. No sales. No one cared.

It stung. A lot,

or in Jamaican terms ā€œShame kill meā€

But here’s what I finally figured out:

Good stories don’t just share. They pull people in.

They make your reader feel something.

And if you’re struggling to write stories that grab attention, here’s what will change everything:

1. Start with a moment, not a summary.

āŒ "I had a tough day at work." āœ… "Sweat dripped down my back as my boss glared."

2. Show, don’t tell.

āŒ "I was nervous." āœ… "My hands shook as I gripped the mic."

3. Make it about them, not you.

Your audience wants to see themselves in your story. Ask yourself: How does this relate to their struggles, dreams, and fears?

4. Use proven hook templates:

  • "I never thought this would happen to me…"

  • "Everyone told me I was crazy, but…"

  • "The moment I realized I was doing it wrong…"

  • "Here’s how I went from [struggle] to [success]…"

5. End with a call to action.

What do you want them to do next? Like? Comment? Share? Tell them.

Once I started doing this, my stories hit differently. More engagement. More DMs. More sales.

And if you want to write stories that make people stop, feel, and take action…

Try these five steps today.

Then reply and tell me what happens. šŸ˜‰

P.S. Storytelling is a skill. Not a talent. Anyone can learn it. But only if you start.

See you on Friday!!

Cheers,

Stephen
