I failed miserably. š¬
Hey my friend,
I crashed. Burned. Face-planted.
I thought I was telling great stories.
But I was dead wrong.
No engagement. No sales. No one cared.
It stung. A lot,
or in Jamaican terms āShame kill meā

But hereās what I finally figured out:
Good stories donāt just share. They pull people in.
They make your reader feel something.
And if youāre struggling to write stories that grab attention, hereās what will change everything:
1. Start with a moment, not a summary.
ā "I had a tough day at work." ā "Sweat dripped down my back as my boss glared."
2. Show, donāt tell.
ā "I was nervous." ā "My hands shook as I gripped the mic."
3. Make it about them, not you.
Your audience wants to see themselves in your story. Ask yourself: How does this relate to their struggles, dreams, and fears?
4. Use proven hook templates:
"I never thought this would happen to meā¦"
"Everyone told me I was crazy, butā¦"
"The moment I realized I was doing it wrongā¦"
"Hereās how I went from [struggle] to [success]ā¦"
5. End with a call to action.
What do you want them to do next? Like? Comment? Share? Tell them.
Once I started doing this, my stories hit differently. More engagement. More DMs. More sales.
And if you want to write stories that make people stop, feel, and take actionā¦
Try these five steps today.
Then reply and tell me what happens. š
P.S. Storytelling is a skill. Not a talent. Anyone can learn it. But only if you start.
See you on Friday!!

Cheers,
Stephen
