I broke my own rule... and I’m never going back

friend, some time ago, I was doing a presentation.

And I shared almost without thinking that I’m afraid of heights.

No dramatic story. No bungee jumping.
Just a quiet truth.

I’m tall. So when I’m standing somewhere high, it feels like I could topple over at any moment.
People chuckled. But I was dead serious.

And right after I said it, I felt exposed.

Not because it was embarrassing.
But because it didn’t sound strategic.
It felt too personal. Too soft.
Too far from the “expert” I thought I had to be.

But you know what happened next?

People came up to me after.
Not to talk about business. Or tactics.
But to share their own fears.

Not one of them said, “Wow, great framework.”

They said things like:
“I’ve never told anyone this before…”
Or,
“That reminded me of something I’ve always carried.”

That’s when it hit me:

The story you’re avoiding…
might be the one your audience is waiting for.

The one you think is “too random” or “too soft”?
It might be the thread that builds trust faster than any offer ever could.

So let me ask you:

What’s a moment you’ve never written about
but still think about often?

Because sometimes, the story you’re hiding from…
is the one they’ll remember you for.

If something came to mind, hit reply.
I’d love to read it.
